Ophiocordyceps unilateralis is an entomopathogenic (it acts as a parasite and can kill or disable the host) fungus. It is known as the mind controlling fungi and in the 1st picture it can be seen growing out the head of a “zombie” ant in the Brazilian forest. It can control the behavioral patterns of the host it has attached onto. It takes control of an ant so it can move to an ideal location for the fungi to grow and spread its spores, after that it kills the ant.
Okay guys, this fungus infects the brain of 4 species of carpenter ants. The fungus begims to control the brains of the ants and they stray away from their colony, which is a HUGE deal. Ants are so dependant upon each other and one just going off and doing its own thing is almost revolutionary. The ant will find either a stalk of sturdy grass or a leaf and it will latch itself onto the foliage and stay there until the fungus takes its course. This will be the last move they make. After a while, the fungus grows the stalks shown above come out of the ant’s corpse’s head to spread itself to other members of the colony or nearby ones. Quick lesson on this zombie fungus :)
Snake eats bat. Obviously
In 2010 there was a massive flood in Pakistan that caused millions of spiders and other insects to climb up on trees and make their cocoons in order to avoid rising waters. People claimed that if you stood underneath any of these trees, hundreds of tiny little spiders would fall on your head. These pictures are from Sindh, Pakistan.
Shelia Eddy’s tweet the day her best friend Skylar’s body was found. Shelia, along with her friend Rachel Shoaf, killed 16 year old Skylar Neese 8 months earlier because they “didn’t like her anymore”.
She posted the following tweets a month before Skylar’s body was found.
"Isn’t it weird to think that when you lose something it’s still gonna exist whether you ever find it or not".
"Tired of losing sleep over this".
"Was really waiting for Skylar to come home today".
"No one on this earth can handle me and Rachel if you think you can you’re wrong".

Ernest Hemingway (some would argue this predates him) on a bet said that he could write a story under 10 words.
"Classified: Baby goods. For sale, baby shoes, never worn."
in 1893, Henry Ziegland ended a relationship with his girlfriend. She didn’t take it so well and ended up killing herself. Her brother blamed him for her death and went to Henry’s house and tried to shoot him. Henry was lucky and the bullet only grazed his cheek and embedded itself inside a tree nearby. in 1913 Henry decided to use dynamite to uproot a tree in his garden. The explosion propelled the embedded bullet from the tree straight into Henry’s head-killing him on the spot.
So if you ever feel unlucky, just think about this story.
Salar de Uyuni, in Bolivia is such an amazing place. It is the world’s largest salt flat, and when its covered in water it becomes a mirror. Everytime someone walks across it, they appear to be walking on clouds.
